What was done...
This project was paricularly challenging in that we had to deal with OSHPD guidelines and restrictions that are different than most other projects. The subcontractors were responsible for modeling each of their respective systems. We required the mechanical subcontractor to conduct clash detection while we provided oversight of the entire process, facilitated conflicts, document distribution, modeled architectural and structural models as needed, and overall project management. During the coordination we identified many conflict that would have been very costly in the field, but we were able to avoid them as a direct result of proper 3D/MEP/BIM coordination.
